Our second vintage of rosé, 2017 La Sirena Rosato is available now! 100% Primitivo from Amador County. Clean, delicate floral aromas and fresh, fruity components of strawberry and cranberry.
We have been considering the idea of making a rosé for a few years, waiting for the right grapes that could offer a unique twist to most rosé wines. Along came a fairly young vineyard in Amador county with some Primitivo grapes available to us. I thought it would make a fun and delicious rosé and had never seen a Primitivo rosé in the market before. Voila! Something new and different was born. We hope you enjoy the wine this rosé-drinking season!
2017 Rosato Tasting Notes: (tasted 01/31/2018 by HPB)
The 2017 Rosato is made from Primitive grapes sourced from Amador county in the foothills of California. The color is vibrant salmon pink, with aromas of beautiful ripe fruit, reminiscent of cranberry sauce, strawberries, and honeysuckle. Lively across the palate and delicious with similar flavors to the aromatics. This rosé is bone dry and elegant with crisp acidity and pure clear flavors. Great balance of acidity, mouthfeel, and fruit character. A fun, unusual varietal rosé that’s very easy to love. Enjoy!
