A new vintage of our flagship wine – open and expressive, with velvety and explosive flavors across the palate. Blackberry-like ripe Cab flavors with amazing silky textural tannins and a persistent long finish.
As we forge ahead with harvest 2018, we are excited to unveil a gorgeous new release: our flagship 2015 La Sirena Cabernet Sauvignon. Heidi says, “I love working with Cabernet Sauvignon because it is Napa Valley’s most sought-after & highly regarded varietal, and the most challenging to excel at consistently. It always gives me a sense of accomplishment when it turns out to be delicious. Plus, I like that all that work can last for many years in the cellar and continue to be enjoyed over time. My La Sirena Cab reflects my devotion to balance, elegance, winemaking tradition and classic varietal styling.”
2015 as a vintage was marked as the most intense year of the multi-year drought (following 2012, 2013, and 2014) and the year in which the effects of the drought were most deeply felt. This resulted in extremely low yields and lower production quantities, but the wines that were produced were extremely concentrated and flavorful.
Tasting Notes: Tasted 10/17/18 by HPB
This gorgeous 2015 Cab is dense and concentrated, starting with very dark ruby color in the glass. Aromas are Napa Valley at its best – layers of ripe berries, cherries, red currants, and toasty refined French oak accents. Open and expressive, with velvety and explosive flavors across the palate. Blackberry-like ripe Cab flavors with amazing silky textural tannins and a persistent long finish. Power packed concentration from this low production vintage. Already delicious upon release, and will surely be an appealing wine for collectors – its powerful structure and rich flavors ensure this wine will be a favorite for years to come.
