Announcing the first release of a brand new La Sirena label, 2017 Studio Series – a new Cab-forward winemaker blend that will feature a different painting of mine on the label each vintage. I’m proud to offer this new wine that will show off my creative work both inside and outside of the bottle. Welcome to my studio!
In addition to being a winemaker, I have also been a painter and visual artist for many years. My late mother, Diane Brisbois Peterson, was a professional artist, so I grew up immersed in artistic creativity as well as wine. Throughout my winemaking career, I have sought to explore creative avenues within the scientific discipline of wine, and blending has been one of the most fulfilling ways to do that.
Tasting Notes: 2017 Studio Series (tasted 4/12/21 by HPB)
Deeply pigmented in color like blackberry syrup, with gorgeous aromas of ripe fruit – black cherry, currants, and blackberry, with alluring hints of cedar and vanilla. It’s a rich, bold wine across the palate with explosive flavor bursts and textural appeal. Moderate tannins and good length enhance this concentrated, dense Cabernet-based blend. Harmonious blending creates a wine greater than the sum of its parts – complexity and elegance abound in this work of winemaking art. Delicious and approachable upon release, we expect it will be an age-worthy addition to your cellar as well.

“Aromas of fresh and dried violets, blackcurrants, bark, vanilla and nutmeg. It’s full-bodied with a velvety, juicy texture and firm, ultra fine tannins. Layers of ripe black fruit and spices.”
